Dr. Autumn Smolen

Dr. Autumn Smolen is a licensed acupuncturist and licensed massage therapist with advanced training in classical homeopathy. She received her Doctor of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization from Pacific College of Health and Science, Master of Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine Specialization from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, and Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kansas.

Growing up in a rural setting, she was fascinated by nature from an early age. Later during her undergraduate studies in biology, Autumn found herself deeply interested in holistic health, going on to complete a permaculture apprenticeship focused on medicinal herb cultivation, start a natural home cleaning business, and offer empathy-based life coaching support.

After a personal health crisis which she overcame through integration of acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, and bodywork treatments, Autumn felt a calling to cultivate her own skills and support others to heal on a deeper level. She began by exploring the naturopathic medicine doctoral program at Bastyr University while completing their intensive massage therapy program, then directed her focus to studying classical homeopathy and traditional world medicines including Ayurveda and Chinese medicine.

She took courses in Ayurvedic medicine and acquired extensive classical homeopathy training with Dr. Paul Herscu and Dr. Amy Rothenberg through the New England School of Homeopathy. During her Chinese medicine education, she developed an appreciation for a wide-range of approaches, from classical Chinese medicine practices to integrating functional neurology into clinical practice.

With a lifelong interest in fertility, pregnancy, and birth, Autumn saw a need for supporting this important phase of life with the natural approaches that these traditional medicine approaches have to offer, and has since received advanced training in these areas.

In her free time, Autumn enjoys hiking with her husband and poodle, preparing for their own growing family, and working on new crochet projects.
